Orlando CPR Training & Certification
Classes OSHA 29 CFR

All CPR training & certification classes are not the same in Orlando. In Orlando and
Central Florida, some companies will try to tell you that they can be in and out in no time at all. The
only thing this company wants is your money and they are selling you a CPR certification card to get
it.
In our experience, most people in Orlando do not believe that a medical emergency
will happen to them or a loved one. That's like saying that you won't wear a seatbelt today because you don't
think you'll get in a car accident today driving around Orlando today.
CPR
or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training & certification classes are something we don't like to think about. How often do you really need to perform CPR
anyway? I personally hope that you never have to perform CPR in
your entire life.
With that said, during a medical emergency in Orlando is not the time that you want to have to
learn what to do. The only way to be prepared for anything in life is to practice before hand.
Look, you don't perform CPR regularly in Orlando
unless you do it for a living and that's not going to happen unless you're a paramedic. CPR is like everything
else in life, if you don't use it you lose it. You want to be prepared, take a good CPR training &
certification class. You want to stay prepared, take it every couple of years.
Lets get real, as a lay person if you are in a situation that
requires first aid or CPR for a loved one, a friend or a co worker, your adrenalin is going to shoot through the
roof. Then your mind will go blank. At this point your training should take over. Now, wouldn't it be nice if you had trained with a company that did plenty of hands on practice
whether it be CPR or first aid?
Today, part of an Orlando CPR training &
certification class is using an Automated External
Defibrillator (AED). An AED is the only thing that a lay person can use to save someone who is
in Sudden Cardiac Arrest. We perform CPR to keep the brain viable but an AED sends an electric shock to the
heart to get it back into a normal sinus rhythm.
As part of your Orlando CPR training & certification
class, you want to do hands on training with an AED
as well. Hopefully there is more than one brand present so you can see the minor differences. They all do the
same basic thing, they send a shock to the heart. The use of the
AED combined with you doing the CPR gives the victim the best chance of survival until the next level of care
arrives.
Also included in your Orlando CPR training & certification class you should go over choking and be taught how
to do the Heimlich Maneuver. This live saving skill saves countless lives every year. Make sure that your instructor goes over it and you feel comfortable with
it.

All CPR Training & Certification
classes are not created equal in Orlando Florida. How to choose a good
training company, ask questions:
-
Are you insured?
-
How many manikins will you bring?
-
What is the instructor to student
ratio?
-
Are you going over Universal Precautions in depth
so we can protect ourselves?
-
How much hands on time will we get?
-
If you are doing CPR for children and infants, does
the instructor evaluate everyone for that as well?
-
Do we just watch a video and take a
test?
-
Does everyone get a CPR card?
-
Does everyone in the class get hands-on
training?
-
Do you do scenario based training for the AED
too?
-
Do you go over calling 9-1-1?
There should be manikins available for
each student in your Orlando CPR class
to practice doing chest compressions. You can't get the feel of doing compressions correctly by just watching
a movie. Good instructors see how students learn and adjust to individual needs.
Don't just get shown how an automated external
defibrillator works, you want everyone in the class to have a chance at using one. Make sure you do
scenario based training, that is when stress comes in and students learn how to deal with it.
Make sure your Orlando CPR
training covers everything you need. If you're confused in any way, don't hesitate to ask your
instructor to clear it up.
